Terms of Service
The terms that govern your use of Inciteful: accounts, monthly and annual billing, refunds, accuracy, liability and agencies serving clients.

1. Who these terms are for
Inciteful is a business-to-business (B2B) software service for businesses, agencies, freelancers and other professional users acting in the course of their trade. By creating an account you confirm you are using the service for business purposes and are authorised to bind the business you represent. If you use Inciteful to serve your own clients, you are responsible for having the right to add each client’s brand, website and competitors, and for what you share with them.
2. The service
Inciteful measures how AI assistants answer the questions buyers ask. It puts the questions you track to AI engines, records every answer with its sources, and shows who is named, who is cited and what changed. On Pro and Agency, the Agent explains results from a client’s own measurements, and the AEO Boost gives your own AI coding tool an audit and an ordered list of fixes. Proof checks the pages you ship, and reports share results with your clients. Inciteful does not write, publish or change your website or your clients’ websites. We provide tools; we do not guarantee any particular ranking, citation, traffic or commercial outcome.
3. Accounts and acceptable use
You are responsible for your account credentials and all activity under your account. You agree not to: misuse or attempt to disrupt the service; exceed plan limits through automation or circumvention; use the service for unlawful, infringing, defamatory or harmful purposes; resell raw API access; or use the service to create spam or deceptive material at scale.
4. Plans, billing and renewals
Paid plans are billed monthly or annually in advance through our payment processor, Stripe. Monthly plans renew each month and annual plans each year until cancelled; we email you before each annual renewal. Prices are shown on our pricing page and may change with notice; a change applies from your next billing period. Upgrades take effect immediately and are charged pro rata for the rest of the period; downgrades take effect at the next renewal. Enterprise plans are agreed in writing, and those terms apply alongside these.
5. Cancellation and refunds
You may cancel at any time from your account’s billing portal. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for and then stops renewing; the account then becomes read-only, and your data stays until you delete it. If you ask within 14 days of your first annual payment, we refund that payment in full, once per account. Otherwise fees are non-refundable, except where we charged you in error or where the law requires a refund. We may, at our discretion, issue goodwill refunds.
6. Digital services and cancellation rights
Inciteful supplies digital services that begin immediately on subscription. Where you are acting as a consumer and a statutory cancellation (“cooling-off”) period would otherwise apply, you ask for the service to begin immediately and acknowledge that you lose the right to cancel for a refund once the first tracking run has started. Most users use the service as a business, to which statutory consumer cancellation rights do not apply.
7. Your data and accuracy
You retain ownership of the inputs you provide and of what you export. Measurements come from AI assistants’ answers, which change and can be wrong. The Agent’s explanations and the AEO Boost’s recommendations are produced by automated systems and may contain errors. You remain responsible for reviewing any change before you or your AI tool make it, and for what you tell your clients. No score or check is a guarantee of accuracy or outcome.
8. Third-party services
The service relies on third parties, including AI model and data providers, hosting and payment processors. Their availability and terms are outside our control. If you connect your own AI provider key, you are responsible for that provider’s costs and terms.
9. Availability
We aim for high availability but provide the service “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of uninterrupted or error-free operation.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, or for loss of profit, revenue, data or goodwill. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the 3 months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms. You may close your account at any time from your settings; this deletes your data (see the Privacy Policy).
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory local law provides otherwise.
